| The Cosmopolitan city of
San FranCisco grew following1848 Gold Rush. Many Prospectors ventured into
the West Coast from Europe and the East Coast sailing 'around the
horn' or travelled the 2000 mile long Oregan Trail. Though their trek
was arduous and fraught with danger the rewards were enormous for the
lucky. |
Once the
newcomers began to spend freely, stylish restaurants with immigrant chefs
sprang up almost over night. The combination of money, abundant fresh
produce and the melting pot of settlers created a culture of culinary
experimentation: Fusion Cuisine. |
