Roundham Lodge is situated in Roundham, a select area of Paignton. The only 5 Diamond establishment in Paignton the lodge has also been awarded a Silver award by the English Tourist Council and a Sparkling Diamond award by the RAC.

The Lodge was built in 1901 for a doctor and his family with all the majesty of that era.

Over the years the residence has been used as an hotel and more recently completely renovated and tastefully decorated.

A new development is the pond and waterfall, which is quite impressive when illuminated in the evening and very peaceful during the day sitting and relaxing to the sound of the running waters. A blessing for those wishing to meditate or simply relax and read.

The lodge is officially inspected 2 times per year to ensure our standards of comfort, cleanliness and friendliness. The bedrooms are spacious, all ensuite, comfortable beds, furnished to a high standard and include TV and Video recorder. Tea making facilities, Radio alarm clock. Computerised direct telephones. Hair drier and shampoo, soaps, bath/shower gel and Sewing kit just to make life a little more comfortable.

Our well cooked English breakfast of smoked bacon, eggs, sausages, honeyed fresh tomatoes, baked beans and mushrooms, cereals, fruits, juices, fresh fruits is enough to sustain one throughout the day. Vegetarians also catered for. We do try to cater for your needs where possible.

The lounge is very comfortably furnished and displays original oil paintings which are also on display throughout the lodge. The painter, Alan Morton has sold works to many overseas clients and taken several commissions for marine and landscapes at home for private buyers and museums. The artist prefers to paint in the more traditional style, landscapes. Tall ships, Animals, Country cottages, mainly from photographs in the studio.

Roundham Lodge provides an ideal location from which to explore the beautiful South West. Visit the wild expanses of Dartmoor which is beautiful in the winter snow as well as summer sun. Devon also has many quaint villages worth a visit. Take a boat trip from Paignton harbour or a nostalgic steam train journey on the Dart Line Railway. Relax on our many beaches a few hundred yards away. There is so much to see within a half hours travel radius of the lodge. The well known Paignton zoo, Babbacombe model village, bygones museum and many others too numerous to mention. Whether sunny or inclement weather there is always something interesting to do in Torbay.

In the immediate area of the Lodge there are several good eating establishments which we can recommend. Meals in Torbay generally are economically priced and good value for money.

We have extensive private car parking facilities within the grounds and adequate security lighting.

The lodge is a non smoking establishment and we request smokers to use the gardens for their pleasure.
