Local Events Diary A guide to what's on in the Bay
EVENTS 2008 - 2009
NEWS
Calling all sleuths! Come to the English Riviera and immerse yourself in the dramatic plots of the world’s most published author. Agatha Christie lived in Torquay for much of her life; she roller-skated along the pier, enjoyed concerts in the Pavilion and learned all about poisons in a local pharmacy.
Our Special Holiday Breaks include a walking tour along the Agatha Christie Mile and a night at the Palace Theatre at a production of 'The Unexpected Guest'. You can also soak up the murderous atmosphere in the Agatha Christie exhibition in Torquay Museum or stroll through the National Trust Gardens of her riverside home at Greenway. Limited dates in June and September are still available.

Torbay Film Club
Tuesday May 6th
Torbay Film Club Presents: The Counterfeiters (12A) Germany (Subtitled)
7.30 pm Torquay Museum
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the film I’m Not There will now be shown later in the season on Tuesday 3 June, not 6 May as published. Instead we will be showing the brilliant Oscar-winning The Counterfeiters on Tuesday 6 May.
Winner of the 2008 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, this gripping thriller is based on the incredible true story of Operation Bernhard, the largest counterfeiting operation in history. Saloman Sorowitsch, a successful Jewish forger, is incarcerated in a concentration camp where his only means of survival is to collude with the Nazis in their plan to flood the British and American economies with fake money.
“Compelling and clever” Time Out. Film’s official website: www.thecounterfeitersfilm.com
Become a member for just £21 and gain access to the remaining 7 films of this season. Alternatively you can pay £5 for one screening on the night.
